For Dr. Dat Nguyen, years of being in the pharmaceuticals business had given him insight into the rise of giants like Walgreens and CVS. He saw his positions within companies like these focusing less on medicine and more on retail, something that watered down his years of education and training. He longed to serve his clients with a true compounding pharmacy where he could get to know his customers by name. Soon after, Pharmedico Pharmacy was born, and a growing clientele have been spreading the word about this specialty pharmacy.
Dat enjoys his role as Pharmacist and owner of his popular location on Lockwood Ridge Blvd. He is proud to say, “Personalized medicine that is still handmade with a mortar and pestle” is something they practice every day. Compounding is the method in which individualized medicines are prepared for each client. Rather than a size fits all methodology, the pharmacist works closely with physicians to prepare medicines for their clients’ exact needs. Although fairly new to the IBE family at just under five months, Pharmedico Pharmacy has already seen an uptick in clientele referred to them specifically for their compounding services. Once the word spread among the IBE community that he had such a specialized product, the buzz began. Dat was pleasantly surprised at how rapidly the IBE family gathered to welcome him and his staff, and to try out the services of the pharmacy. Additionally, he was very happy to use his IBE currency in lieu of cash with fellow IBE member, Congdon & Company.
